Paul played on all four Goaldiggers championship teams.

Bill Joyce, F on the 1982, 1983 championship teams, said "Before my first shift, I kept hearing this noise. I couldn’t figure out what it was. Just before they dropped the puck, I turned around and saw Paul Tantardini making cat sounds. And he was just smiling at me. I smiled back and chuckled. But 30 seconds later he elbowed me in the head and I didn’t think it was funny anymore. It wasn’t too far off from Slap Shot. I got to know him later and he loved cats. He had one named Digger.”.
